On a recent job in Minneapolis I spotted (and photographed) a peloton of Segway riders. I was under the impression that they were an endangered species, as I only see them when the tough looking security at the airport mount them with their black helmets. To my delight, the Segway appears to making a rebirth, and it’s being fueled by tourists who love the gyroscopic feel. Long live the Segway.
On a similar transportation note, I just watched the documentary ‘Gashole’. The idea of my Subaru running on water thrills me. If only I could build my own vapor engine.
Those are my deep thoughts for the day.
If you haven’t seen Miranda July’s Me and You and Everyone We Know, stream it now on Netflix before you decide to ditch the streaming services next month when rates go up. It’s really just a great film, and I’m excited to see her new movie, The Future, which comes out later this summer.
I was fortunate enough to spend a few moments with Miranda in my studio recently for a feature in this month’s San Francisco magazine. She’s a lovely person, and I truly enjoyed capturing her unique style. Thanks Mirnada and SF Mag!
